4 The Productive 🥸

Tip: Pomodoro vs. Flomodoro

Try these two focus methods. You may have heard of Pomodoro already, but if that doesn’t work for you (it doesn’t for me) then you may want to try the Flomodoro method.

Pomodoro

The Pomodoro Technique involves working in timed intervals of 25 minutes called "pomodoros", separated by short breaks. The steps are:

1. Set a timer for 25 minutes (one pomodoro)

2. Work solely on a task for those 25 minutes

3. When the timer rings, take a 5 minute break

4. After every 4 pomodoros, take a longer 15-30 minute break

Flomodoro

This method uses a timer and lets you take a break when you want to take a break.

1. Start a timer and work.

2. Stop timer when you feel your focus drops to 50% or less.

3. Calculate break time by dividing how long you’ve worked by a chosen divisor number.

4. Take a break.

5. Repeat.

EX: You start a timer when you’re working and you feel like you’re losing focusing around 35 minutes. You divide by 5 to calculate you’re break time 35/5 = 7 minutes

You would then take a break and repeat.

Digital Tools

FutureMe - Write to your future self. You can pick a date when you want to receive the message.

Chuck.Email - Best app hands down to clean up your inbox. I cleared up 10,000 emails in under 5 minutes with this. I know you probably have more than me so don’t judge.

Peptoc: Hotline - Call the number and hear recorded voices from elementary kids giving you a pep talk. Nothing like motivation from kids when they’re not being brutally honest with you.

Eightify - Easily summarize YouTube videos. idk if my attention span is ruined or what, but I can’t even watch a 10 minute video straight anymore.

Physical Tools

Boom Boom Nasal Stick - Nasal breathing spray that helps you focus and enhances your breathing. May even give you a rush and can fit in your pocket.

Ninja Air Fryer - $100 Ninja Air Fryer right now. If you hate cooking this is the way to go.

Phone Lock Box - Lock your phone up and set a timer while you get work done. You’re still able to charge too. We’ve all built up a bad habit of having our phones with us 24/7. Now we are distracted 24/7.

Sleep/Sport Headband - Use this for sleep as a sleep mask or when you’re outdoors. Has bluetooth so you can listen to music or sounds while you sleep.

Tip: How to Make Sure Your Fries Are Always Fresh at McDonald’s

Ask for no salt on your fries and the cook has to then make your fries fresh.

Then add your own salt. :)
